Fun activities to do with your little one:)

Keeping little one entertained is key to keeping little one happy! Everyday I try my best to do little things here and there to keep little one busy.

Since kids can have short attention spans it can be hard to keep them focused on one thing for a long period of time. My little one for example usually only last about 20-30 minutes or less before she’s just over it and I have to find something else to do with her. It can be hard especially when I want to get things done around the house.

Since my little one is getting older and more curious, it’s hard to keep her entertained with her own toys. She has hit a phase of wanting anything that isn’t toy related and that’s in her line of sight, such toys that are not safe or kid friendly; pens, utensils, heavy objects like lotion bottles or water bottles. And when she doesn’t get these objects she’s not very happy about it.

Instead I usually try to distract with other things while I move that non kid friendly object out of her line of sight. But as shes growing and getting smarter shes just not satisfied with what I give her to play with.

So I’ve resulted in doing research to find some fun activities/objects that can entertain the little one. Here are some things I have tried or want to try with my daughter:

1. paint & paper in a zip block bag, put a few drops of paint on a piece of paper and then put that paper in a sealed zip block bag and let little one play with that.
   

2. Sensory bags/bottles, you can fill a zipblock bag with beads, or rice, or small interesting objects(add water) and seal it up and let baby play with it.
   

3. Shakers, if a regular baby shaker/rattle work a pill bottle with a safety top on it is works just a well.

4. On summer days, a little water play can be fun, fill a baking tray with water add some toys: put a couple towels down and let baby play in the water.

5. Sand: my daughter loves it, since here we’re getting closer to summer weather letting little one sit in the sand at the beach is definitely a fun thing to do.

6. Rolling a ball back and forth, sitting sitting on the floor across from the little and rolling a ball back and forth.

There is so many other things out there that are fun activities you can do with your little one. I haven’t tried them all but I’ve tried many of them and my little one enjoyed it a lot.
