This heat is killing me, I’ve barely left my room. The A/C in the living room isn’t working great, it’s 93 degrees outside and 73 inside my house. It’s such a beautiful day out and I should want to go outside and enjoy this record breaking weather but I dread the idea of walking out the door.

My body does not do well in this heat. I can’t clean or do laundry because just sitting on the couch makes me sweat. The only place in the house where the A/C works perfectly and keeps it cool is in our bedroom. I want to just stay in our room in our bed but that makes me feel very unproductive and lazy.

The weather is supposed to be even hotter the next couple of days and I just know It’s going to be rough, I definitely need to hit a beach or go to a pool and enjoy some time in some nice cool water. Part of me wishes I invested in a blow up pool for our backyard but with this weather I already know all of the stores are going to be sold out.

So how do I deal with this heat that doesn’t involve keeping me indoors all day? I honestly can’t go to the beach everyday this summer but I gotta enjoy it somehow. We plan to take many family trips this summer and I hope we do because I just love getting out of the house. Other than going on trips, I want to explore more and check out places I haven’t been to, maybe go to the ocean or some new beaches I’ve never been to.

I really can’t complain, we haven’t had a summer like this ever and I’m happy for the nice weather I just wish I had more ideas of things I can do to enjoy the outdoors. It’s only the beginning so I’m curious is it going to get even hotter and nicer these next couples months and if so I needed to start making some summer plans. I am going to try and enjoy every minute of it while it lasts.

My advice to anyone who isn’t used to this kind of heat is:

1: stay hydrated!!! Drink hella fluids

2: stay inside an air conditioned area

3: try to avoid outdoor activities during the hottest time of day.

4: if your going swimming then be careful always bring life vests and a floatie.

5: Make sure to wear sunscreen to protect your skin!

6: wear some sun glasses and a hat to protect your eyes and scalp.
